Why doesn't 5th gear on my Honda 250 recon work anymore?

All the gears work ok but when you shift into 5th gear there is no power to the rear axle. it is basically in neutral because you can rev it up and use the gas but there's no power. Power returns when you shift back down into 4th. Is this a broken gear in the transmission or what??
