Why does Yahoo ask for confirmation when deleting spam?

This has annoyed me for a while. Every time I delete even a single spam message Yahoo forces me to confirm that I really want to do what I am doing via a pop-up message. However, I can delete any number of my precious real emails without any kind of confirmation being required.

This makes absolutely no sense to me, if anything it should be the opposite with confirmation being requested when real emails are deleted. It's as if Yahoo are making spam messages more important than inbox messages.

I have reported this to Yahoo a couple of times, asking if I can switch the confirmation pop-up off. I received the standard stock reply that this feature is not currently available and they will consider it for the future.

So my question is, is there something I have missed here, and is there actually a good reason why I'm being asked to confirm deletion of spam but not inbox messages?
