Why does William Forrester become a reclusive author in the film FINDING FOFRESTER?

It's for homework and the one thing I forgot was why he became reclusive, like what it was in his past that made him hide out and never publish another book

Finding Forrester is my favorite movie. and to answer your question, he became a reclusive author because he got tired of the public judging his book and making their own assumptions about it, like what he was "really" trying to say. he slowly built a hate for people. plus he had no family (mom, dad and brother all died within 6 months)
