I've noticed something very odd while driving recently. Whenever I wear a wool coat and drive around in my car, I get a really powerful static shock between me and the metal body of my car as soon as I step out.
In fact, I don't even have to wear the coat; if I lock my wool coat in the trunk, I still get shocked after I drive around and step out.
However, I don't get shocked I wear a leather coat or no coat at all.
What's happening between between my car and my coat when I drive around?
