Because as you said, the environment has been around for millions of years. It will continue to be around for even longer. We on the other hand are more than likely gonna be wiped out at some point or another so it doesn't matter what we do cause it's never gonna have as big of an impact on the environment as people say or think.

Not really talking about climate change or global warming. Im talking about people not respecting or taking good care of the local environment where they live in. Where im from we are pretty drought strickened and our forests are dying because of lack of flood, as a result of lack of rainfall and highly regulated river system. Our local water authority decided to flood a curtain area out bush and the next day our town's leading newspaper posted an article saying it was a waste of water. Why was it a waste?? I understand the need for the farmers to have irrigation water but whats wrong with saving a part of the earths history? If they are worried about wasting water why do there still water household gardens? Fill local swimming pools? why is it when the water goes to something good its 'wasted'? And what pisses me off is that the view of our newspaper is basically the view of the marjority of the town. Ah why are people like this!!
