why does this happen when I try to setup windows media center on my xbox (10pts)?

Whenever it's "contacting" it just stays there, it's been like that for hours. Am I doing something wrong? Is it the connection? Do I just wait? What's the problem?

I tried with both a wireless router and a phone cord.
