why does the turn signal shut engine off on my 1997 buick regal GS?

it might be your alternator, becuz i have a 97 buick le sabre and my car kept cutting off after i had a jump, i thought it was my radiator and it wasn't thought it was my battery so i bought a new and it still did the same thing then i got a new alternator and that fixed my problem, because when ur alternator is weak it takes the juice from ur battery and shuts the car off
 
i have a 1997 Buick Regal GS 3800 engine that is not turning on and when it did i would put the turn signal right or left and it will shut the engine off immidetly . I had the ignition switch replace about 6 months ago by the dealer so i think thats not the problem. any advice plz post because many people have the same problem.
