Why does the sound on my phone sound bad?

When i go to the site myxertones.com i go to download the sound and when i get the songs they sound really bad and i have never had this problem with any other phone i have had My sound on my phone is fine when i play with my mp3s it sounds fine. I have a LG Rumor from Alltel which i flashed over to cricket service. Is there a way i can fix this problem
