Brought a Mongoose Sting Bike April 9 and then the peddle arm on left side fell off after like the 5th time I rode it. I complained ot zellers and they exchanged the bike for me. Got a Sporteck Mud Dawg and yet again the peddle fell off. Are their bikes not put together right?

I would say so. They may have younger kids putting them together making very little an hour. But two bikes from the same store it has to be who is putting them together.

The biggest problem here is you are buying your bikes at a Dept store! Zellers is Canadas Wal Mart down south (just not quite as big) and the quality is LOW and Cheap just like Wal Mart. What do you expect when you buy Dept store junk?!

Yes, these bikes were incorrectly assembled. Department store bike assemblers get paid by the bike (sometimes $3 per bike) so they rush through these spending only about 10-12 minutes per bike. The left pedal is a reverse thread meaning you tighten counterclockwise. Experienced mechanics know this and I am left wondering if there are other serious problems with these bikes in their assembly, such as a tight front axle that you only truly discover when the wheel is off the bike and you try to turn the axle by hand. (It should move freely with no lateral play.) OR brake alignment...Pick the bike up and spin the wheels one at a time. They should not touch the brake pads on either side. Or if they put grease on the seat post. Or...
