It seems like all the major channels keep putting backward-facing reactionaries like Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) on the air. Despite their far-right views and their minority party status, they appear on TV more often than their Democratic counterparts. The South has a disportionate voice in the media, as well in the U.S. government, and the Republicans, who actually lost the last election, behave as if they retained power. Is there any reason why the media plays along? Why give these extremists more credibility than they deserve?
