Why does the ford mustang not have a Ford emblem on it?

It is kind of like Mustang is its own brand - just like Thunderbird was. Two iconic names that have almost 100% recognition in the minds of the American public - the blue oval is not really necessary.

its just a mustang thing, some of them have ford ovals on the rims, but most of them don't, i also have a mustang, its a 71 coupe, and it has no ford ovals, like i said its just a mustang thing.

I just got a 09 mustang and i just noticed that mustangs don't have the ford symbol, just curious to see if there is a reason...?

Because the newer Mustangs are styled like the ones from the late 60s and they didn`t have the Ford oval either.

im guessing because its a brand of for but mustangs have branches gt's cobra ect
