Why does the Ferrari Enzo cost $500,000 more than the Ford GT?

The Ferrari Enzo costs $652,000 and the Ford GT costs $150,000.

What's so special about the Enzo? It's not even that much faster than the Ford GT, they can both do 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds. Is is just because its a Ferrari and your paying for the name?

I agree - it's pretty hard to try and justify why a person could own 4 - Ford GTs and still have money left over to register them - or he could own 1 - Enzo and still have to cough up more money to register it.
You know what they say....there's an ass for every seat.

Added: Thumbs down? I guess some people honestly think an Enzo is worth over a half million dollars more than a Ford GT - go figure.

There is so much more to cars than 0-60 times. Enzo is an all carbon construction, uses lots of F-1 technology, has a Ferrari V-12, top speed of 217 mph, etc, etc, only 399 made, a used one is well over a million dollars.

The original Ford GT, back in the 50's was Ford's answer to Ferrari's domination of the car races. After Ferrari backed out of a buyout from Ford, Ford built the GT and it whipped Ferrari 6 years in a row, But then Ferrari got its act together and has ever since been leader of high performance vehicles. The Ford takes 3.6seconds to 60 while the Enzo takes 3.3, Now that may not seem like much, and in a straight line, they would indeed be a relatively close match. On a race track, which what supposedly both cars were designed for, the Ferrari would absolutely leave the GT in its dust. The Ford GT cannot take a corner at all. The Ferrari is a technological marvel whereas the Ford is a slightly modernized version of the original car. Plain and simple Ferrari is superior to the GT in every way.

i'm sure a 90 honda crx with a b18 swapped engine would give the ferrari a run for its money, but then again the crx would'nt be that greaet at turning and what not.
