is it wrong ?or perhaps racist ?to have radio stations dedicated to particular races for eg asian radio or afro carribbean.does this cause resentment from races that arent catered for?if we live in a multicultural society is it right to segregate things ? if the argument is that these radio stations are for everyone then why call them or label them by race?

They are dedicated to different genres of music ie rock and roll, bhangra, hip hop, etc.

DUH!

I dont think they are being racist, they are just catering for a need. For instance, Asian music is not to everyone's taste, and if you want to hear Asian music on say Radio One, there is not a lot of it about, so they make their own radio station. Same for heavy metal. If people just want to listen to heavy metal, then they can have it 24/7. I suppose it is better to have a dedicated station, than none at all.

Well it's good to have choice and the more stations there are the more choice there is, the more jobs created etc etc.

However, it's funny how you will never hear of a station dedicated to white people. That would just be racist.

no, i dont want to listen to asain music, so you can have a choice instead of having to listen to the poop they play

They are for everyone, Just because they are dedacating a few hours to asian or afro carribbean music does not mean that white people can not listening to it.
