Ok, im American myself; but when i see other non-Americans my age, they seem to be a lot maturer than the average Americans.
I dont know what the reason for that is. Maybe because they are much more aware than us about the world. We are pretty much sheltered from the real problems of the world by our media, and thus have no worries at all; which can lead to careless/apathetic behavior.
Or it could also be because ppl my age (21 and over) are still sitting in their rooms watching shows like South Park, Futurama and Family Guy (and not getting out to see the world), whereas lots of foreigners are exploring cultures (not sitting in their asses watching those immature shows).
It seriously bugs me that American adults still watch shows like those, and not have any clue about what is going on in the rest of the world. I realize that as Americans, we have been 'blessed' with many things; which is why we think we can be isolated from the world and still be the best. But i find this very immature thinking on our part.
