Why does system requirements say that my comp is running a 64 bit OS?

Recently I have applied for a work at home job and the first step after the application was to download a program called system requirements and run it. One of the requirements was to have a 32 bit operating system which my computer has. I am running Windows XP and I have confirmed twice that I am running 32 bit through both through system properties, which doesn't say x64 thereby defaulting to 32 bit and then again through system information under processor says x86 which again is a 32 bit. Strangely enough, the program is telling me that I am running at 64 bits unlike what I really am really running. So why would this happen and how can I fix it?

Thanx.
