why does runaway brides/groom wait the day of the wedding to run away?

i think it is stupid to wait the day od the wedding to run away
1. Because it is humilliating for the groom/bride to get dump in front of her/his familly , freinds and co-workers

2.The Lost Of money this is the worst the cake is done , the gowns , the tuxedo , the waiters , the flowers , Once They are paid they are no refund

what do you think of that ?
 
its like going on a roller coaster u wait in line and wait in the heat and u see whats a head and then the time comes to seat down in the seat u get dont go on the ride
