Why does paint not let you save?(on the computer)?

on my laptop, i luv the program paint.i have noticed that you can't save and come back to it later. what i mean by that is it like pixelfys it and you can not come back to it like you left it. i dont no how 2 describe it any better than that. my moms laptop does that 2. any suggestions??? no mean comments thnx!
 
save it as a .png instead of a .jpeg/.jpg - jpegs save it as a low resolution quality which makes it look like crap. png's saves it so that it still looks like original.
 
Sounds more to me like you dont know what you are doing. You have 2 choices in the file tab, save and save as. A little advice, dont use save when working with the original image If you do, you will over write the original.. After you have doodled with an image you want to save, select save as, give it a different name, and save it to somewhere you can find it.
