Our daughter is 14 years old and we will be 15 in a few weeks. The last couple of months she has been very hateful towards us( her family). She claims we never give her freedom and that we never let her go anywhere. Finally, we grounded her and she decided she wanted to go live with my ex husband( her father) because she said she hated me. I dont know what has gotten into her? I know teens go through this stage but this is down right hateful with her. When she told me she hated me, I told her I loved her and she said " Well I hate you mother and I am being serious" She claims I dont let have freedom to do as she wants to do. I am at my wits end with this. My ex husband doesnt back me up if I ground her because as soon as she goes to his house, he ungrounds her. I told her I was going to get family counseling to find out what needs to be be done and she said if I put her in counseling, she will cuss out the counseler and leave the room. I dont know what else do to?
