...works fine with the engine off? I have a Phoenix Gold 1000 Watt RMS amp and two MTX 12's in ported boxes. Operates and sounds great with the ignition in the on position with the engine off, but when the engine is running the amp shuts down and goes into protect mode at a relatively low volume. I have 8 gauge wire feeding the amp less than 10ft and an 8 gauge ground less than 1ft. I have double checked all wiring for resistance and/or shorts. There is no difference in voltage at the amp either way........what gives? Would a capacitor make a difference?
