I have a 1999 Grand Cherokee and it squeaks badly on the front right side. It turns out that the right-front axel was cracked. The guy that fixed it said that since it was cracked, that was the reason it was squeaking because there was water in it. But now it squeaks more than ever. I personally thought it was the brakes, but he said the brakes were good for another 6 months. I got in a wreck this summer and it started making the noise after that. It only makes the noise when I am coasting, not accelerating.
