its a 94 gc laredo with a 5.2. runs great..when it wants. its hard to start and i have to baby it up to idle..it bogs down when put in drive or reverse..changed the iac and fuel filter so far..just started a week ago. but after i get it in gear it runs great. no codes other than the awesome service 4wd switch..

What type of vehicle,engine,year ?
Is the check engine light on?
Could be a few things
1.Vacum leak
2.timing is off
3.Needs a complete tune up
4.Fuel delivery problem
5.solenoid sensor

Without being able to honestly look at the car heres my .02 cents. I have had this issue before on my 96 and honestly im not sure what fixed it. I want to assume out of this list I suspected most likely a faulty TPS.

1. Try unplugging the Crank position sensor and plugging it back in. (somtimes a poor connection on this connector here can cause all sort of power and runability problems. its free and doesnt hurt to try.

2. Next id replace all the plugs, make sure you get the cheap champion copper plugs and NOTHING else. 4.0's like the cheap plugs for some reason.

3. Pull the cap and rotor and trash it if you have not already and replace, there like 10$ for the combo at autozone.

4. Now do this in order this should be one of your last steps (trying to keep you from replacing good parts here saving you money) throttle position sensor located right on the throttle body. Held on by 2 star bolts. (25$)

5. Go ahead and unplug you battery for about 30 minutes to reset your computer. And wala after my jeep ran great. I probably messed up my sensor when offroading. But assuming you dont wheel they can go bad at anytime for any reason.

What sucks about the TPS is they cause shifting and stalling probablems on these damn Cherokees.

If all else fails id replace the Crank position sensor as a weak signal from a failing CPS could easily cause stalling under load.
