Why does my Honda CRV dashboard light for gas cap stay on?

I bought a new gas cap for my Honda CRV. When I drive and then remove the cap, there is a hissing sound showing that there is a tight seal and that the system is pressurized. However, the dashboard light stays on.

Any ideas what else I can do? Thank you.
