Why does my dog smell like fish?

She just went outside and peed, came back in, and reaks of fish! It has either gone away or I'm used to it now...what is this? I searched google and it suggested UTI...she has been licking her privates like crazy lately...
omg...if you get grossed out by that, that's bad.
yeah, i'm hoping it's just anal glands. they're SUPPOSED to do them at the groomer, where she goes every 6 weeks...but i'm thinking they aren't doing it. Will take her to the vet in the morning.
 
anal glands need to be popped. if u cant do that, then give her a warm, soapy bath. that happens in smaller breed dogs usually. it happened to mine a lot when he was younger. if the problem happens everyday or more than three times in a week, then take her to a vet and have the vet examine her and pop the anal glands. this usually occurs when a dog gets nervous or over-excited, causing a fishy odor. can be really gross if it gets on clothes or furniture.
 
When was the last time you've had the anal glands expressed? Full anal glands can produce a "fishy" smell also.
 
do you live near a lake or beach ..maybe your dog is really a fish not a dog..yeech why are we all so graphic for yeeeech.. must you tell us your dog licks himself yeeeech.. sigh.. sinner are dogs sinners too JESUS..
 
This is usually a sign that it had yeast infection. You should see a vet. But animals also lick their privated just because they can. ;D hoped I helped.
