I just replaced the heat blower. It starts flashing about 30 after i turn the car on. It never flashed before i replaced the blower. What could it be and could i drive on it?
Well my Dad has a mercury ...It has the same problem...it shows Check engine...it has been showing the same since years....
Atlast yesterday dad went to garage to fix some other problem n told him abt the check engine problem....he say i was because of some compressor stuff...due to which his cars RPM varies ..goes up ..comes down....m not sure what he said if it was compressor or some other thing...but is a small problem....
get the car to a showroom ...let them have a look....it may be small .or a serious one...

The only problem makes the check engine light flashing is misfired, for it to damage the catalytic converter. Can drive but fix it a.s.a.p.A cat can cost thousand to replace.
It means the engine control computer(ECM) has detected a problem in the cars emission system, if it was not doing that before replacing the blower you have probably knocked a connector off of a sensor. If you reconnect it the light is still going to stay on until it is reset with a scan tool. If you do not own one you will need to take it to someone who does. I think Advance will do this for free.
