I have 1997 Mazda 626 LX 2.0L 4 cylinder.
It's a mystery. The whine is coming from around the alternator and belts and its louder on a cold start. It gets louder when I accelerate. Idle in park and neutral is smooth. After hours of driving/turning on and off the car, the car it will finally run smooth. When I turn the steering wheel the idle goes real low. When i use my turn signal/heater/wipers/lights/windows, you can feel the car idling rough and then compensates for the load slowly.. Sometimes the car will run perfect with no hesitation, some days it will just be rough to accelerate. The alternator was tested fine and the battery also. No check engine lights.
