I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, and it takes a long time to wind down if I put it in neutral and give it the gas. It's only when I'm moving though. In park and even neutral whenever I'm stopped it winds down normally. What is causing this?
The car is pushing back when stopping so the engine has the weight pushing back on it through the transmission so it takes longer to wind down like you said
