I have a ford focus (2nd model). And in the last week the car radio has been acting weird! When i turn on the radio with the ignition off, the radio works at its supposed too. But once the ignition is switched on, the radio channel goes and only static can be heard. If i search for a channel nothing can be found, but once I switch the ignition off the radio starts working fine again!

You need a radio suppressor, most "car part" stores sell them.
All electrical items produce radio waves, your radio is receiving the signals that the ignition system and engine are producing, the suppressor will stop this

It looks like the radio is picking up static from somthing on the engin. you need to put a filter on the power leads of the radio you can get them from most accessory shops. i forget what the proper name for them is tho
