My 2003 Pontiac is making a terrible humming noise while im driving and its only getting worse. I originally thought that it was my tires so i put it up on my buddy's lift and it still makes the noise in the air so i thought maybe it is the wheel baring so i got under it while my friend gave it some gas and it sounded like it was coming from the transmission NOT GOOD!!!. So i said to myself im going to drive it until she quits until the transmission locks up or something cause i thought it was a baring inside the transmission but that's been about a year ago and its still going it is just really loud now it used to be i could turn the radio on and not hear it but not anymore i turn the radio all the way up and i can still hear it. So i was wondering if it was a baring in the transmission it would have froze up by now i would have thought? I went and bought a Haynes manual and was hoping there was a baring in the transmission right where the axle goes in that maybe making the noise ( I almost knew there wasn't from previous cars but thought this one could be diff but no) Now my real question is the inner cv joints? could they be causing all this racket i always thought when CV joints were going out that it would pop as you turned the wheel or something at least that's what i was told i have never had any go bad on me maybe that's just for the outer CV joints i don't know. But if anyone has had this problem and or knows what it might be PLZ DON"T TELL ME ITS THE TRANSMISSION THAT'S HARD AND EXPENSIVE LOL?
NO ITS SOMETHING THATS TURING MAKING THE NOISE CAUSE IT ONLY MAKES IT WHEN I AM DRIVING YOU CAN START TO HEAR IT WHEN YOUR GOING ABOUT 10 BY THE TIME YOUR GOING 25-30 YOU CAN REALLY HEAR IT.
