Why does my car lack power?

2000 mazda protege 1.6 liter.
Yesterday, I changed the spark plugs, oil, oil filter, and rotated the tires. Now the car lacks power. I have to push the gas pedal much further down to get power.
If it were the spark plugs, wouldn't the check engine light come on? The light is off.
Yes, spark plugs are correctly gapped.

You could have cracked a spark plug while installing.

You may need to replace your spark plug wires. This can be tested with an ohm meter. A spark plug wire should have between 10,000 to 15,000 ohms resistance per foot.
