and my emergency brake isnt on nor do i need brake fluid . it usually comes on first thing in the moring . i came from a 5 hour trip from newyork city and on the last 10 minutes of my trip it turned on . ????? HELP YAHOO DUDES !!!!

The only thing that turns that light on is low fluid . You may have a stuck float or bad float switch. Make sure the wires going to the reservoir lid are intact. With the lid removed, slide the float up and have someone watch to see if the light goes out. If so this would confirm what I have just told you.

If you wiggle the e-brake handle around does it flicker on and off?

If not, check the brake fluid (probably a good idea anyway). It might also be a good idea to check your pads/rotors in case they are getting worn out.

step on the pedal engine running if it is mushy or feels like a sponge or like you are stepping on a kids ball the problem is worn pads... the piston is down in the cylinder and cant go any more.. if you jack up and take the wheel off and look at the pad you will see not much left.. do the same on all four wheels.. might need to replace all four... the brake fluid might have been added before and the pad thicknes and wear was not considered ok. gilermo
