Why does my boston terrier keep gagging?

the dog might have injured his throat when he had the collar on. Or the dog might have something caught in his throat like a grass seed or something but u should get it checked to be safe than sorry.
So my boston is four months old.
We have been taking him for walks ever since we got him.
He started pulling on his leash and would gag himself, so we got him a harness.
However, now he is gagging all the time.
He keeps waking me up in the middle of the night because it is really loud.
His collar is not too tight or anything, so I do not understand why he is doing this?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
That is what I keep telling my mom, but she says, "oh, we will just keep an eye on him."
Aww, it kind of sounds like kennel cough.
Definitely is not a reverse sneeze.
I am going to try to get my mom to take him to the vet.
