Why does my blackberry storm 2 screen keep freezing?

I have had my blackberry storm 2 for a week now. I like it although today has been impossible to do anything with it due to the screen freezing and a little timer coming up. I just have to wait for it to stop before doing anything. Has anyone had the same problem? Is there anything I can do or just send it back? Do I replace it for the same or just get a different phone? Thank you
