why does my blackberry get really hot then shutdown and wont turn back on?

This has happened twice before both times I went to ALLTEL and they replaced my phone since it was under warranty.

Itll get really hot and then it will shut down and it will not come back on unless I try using a different battery, I also had the battery replaced however.

So whats happening that it does this?
NOTE: It is NOT charging when this happens
