Why does my Bike Tire(s) keep getting a flat?

Its an old schwinn and the tires on it are older than anyone remembers. We use just standard bell 4 dollar tubes. And im not going anywere trecherouse but it keeps getting a flat and we keep replacing the tube.

their arent caps on the valves, im not sure if that affects anything.

i did buy new tires but im considering taking them back and buying a good pump instead

any help would be great
 
along with submerging the tubes, checking the rim tape is another option here that could be affecting the tubes on the inside of the tube. If you find a hole that is a telltale sign of the actualy problem too. If the hole or tear is found to be on the inside of the tube (the side that touches the rim then the rim tape should be replaced or ensure that that tape is properly installed. Check the inside of the tire for anything that may be in the tire that will repuncture the tube before putting a new one in.
You also may have bad "new" tubes or valves on them. Keep the tires and replace them with the old ones with new tubes and check the rim for burrs on the edges and if there are any, file them flat.
There are many things you can do to ensure that you dont have this problem again. Proper tube and tire installation is essential and if you have a tear (blow-out) on the side of the tube then that is called a Pinch flat and that is the installers fault, not the tire or the rim.

Try submerging them in a bucket of water.. you will see if there are any holes whatsoever! :) Also, try buying some caps for the valves and see if that fixes it! Much cheaper than new tires! lol
 
Check where the tube is getting holes in it. If the hole is on the inner surface of the tube it could be caused by a spoke or something on the rim. Check the rim tape that covers the spoke nibbles. Also check the tire for a thorn or nail etc embedded in the tread. You need to pick up a good floor pump and keep an eye on the tire pressure.

dont patch it!
thats stupid cuz its thin and its gunna pop again
buy heavy duty tubes
theyre about 8$ depending where you live
theyre THICK and you can ride over glass,thorns,knifes
anything you want and it wont pop!
