i know it wont sound great even still but i have no bass what so ever... im not sure if its the wiring or what i read that if its a bit lose the bass can sound rubbish but when connecting to the rear of the stereo i didnt have the metal pins for the end of the wire i just pushed the wire right down into it and secrued it in there with some cardboardcould this be the problem ?

the thing i that your 6x9s are a three way speaker so all they are doing is producing a little bit of mid bass and and a high as well. So if you have a midbass and high controll on your headunit you would need to play with it to tune it in. But keep in mind the 6x9 i not true mid bass like an 8 inch midbass subwoofer. So the problem you are having is very normal when you buy an after market speaker like that. The companies want you to spend some money on getting your low bass put in. So with that said. The best thing to do is to get some subwoofers to hanle that bass you dont need to spend too much just get maybe one or two 8 inch subs with a mall amp maybe 250 watts. If you look on ebay the most all that will cost is maybe a hundred bucks. Your not in competition so you dont need anything expensive.
Now if you have a seperate subwoofer control and midbass controll on the head unit you need to make sure that the all around bass i off( prob the first bass selection you will see) then go to your mids and highs and turn them up seperatley as long with the subs
