...driving for an hour or more? My 2000 Ford Focus with Z-tec engine starts up and runs fine. However after about 15-20 minutes of driving the engines idles rough at stop lights. If I shutoff the AC/heater fan the rough idling stops. Another issue which I think is tried to the rough idling is after driving for an hour or more, if the car is shutoff it will not stay started. It will start up but stalls out right away. If I give it gas it will stay running, but when I go to put it into drive or reverse it stalls. Now, if the car sits untouched for 3-4 hours it will start up again, like nothing was wrong.

Could be a bad thermostat, sounds like something wrong with the cooling system or bad injectors, you need to get this checked out because if it's the coolant system and the engine is overheating, you could seize the engine by letting it run too hot. Don't wait on this 'cause this will just run into more money if the car's overheating.
