it always restarts immediately while driving,i just put it in neutral and restart while still rolling.but the weird thing is that it always gives a sharp but short push as it dies,as if i was gently bumped from behind by another car.
would particles in the cat converter make it feel like sharp kick?Only because i've replaced the fuel pump and filter, and in my experience with a bad pump or filter it feels more like a dull bog rather than a sharp kick as it dies.
also i am the original owner and it has 88k so i know whatc has and has not been replaced or altered.
i did scan with but not with gm.showed no problems.
does it matter that it wasn't scanned on a gm system?

If all the other diagnostics fail, consider this. A bad catalytic converter. Corroded and free moving bits of the internal converter can blow back with the exhaust to plug the exit of the unit. This dams up the exit and creates exhaust back pressure which kills the engine. The engine quits and those free floating pieces fall back down until the cycle starts again. I saw this on Horse Power TV.
