Why does my 1996 Grand Jeep Cherokee keep stalling?

This seems to happen more frequently when it is cold out, but almost every time I drive it, it'll stall out after 5 minutes when I slow down to stop at a light (I never have problems starting it). I used to be able to turn it back on right away, but now I have to sit in the middle of the street for 5 minutes with my flashers on and keep turning it on and revving the engine. After 10-15 minutes of driving it is totally fine. I've changed the air filter and keep it filled with oil - which stops the stalling completely for a couple of days, but only a couple. It has over 100,000 miles on it and other than the whole terrifying stalling in the middle of traffic and losing my power steering and brakes thing, it runs great. I've taken it to a couple of mechanics, but they just change my air filter and spark plugs, which never fixes the problem for long. Need help! I can't afford a new car right now.
