Why does my 1969 Toyota Corona stall after driving on the freeway?

My car has several quirks related to stalling/idling. For starters, when I am at stop signs/redlights, I have to put the car in Neutral or it will stall.

Second, after driving on the freeway (higher speeds, never over 60), even in Neutral, the car stalls. Sometimes I can prevent it from dying by giving it a little gas while in Neutral, but I can't fathom this is something good.

The engine and transmission were both rebuilt before I bought the car and only had about 3,000 miles on em.

Any ideas?

I would increase the engine idle speed for now to solve the problem. You simply turn the idle screw adjustment on the carburetor clockwise about 1 turn to see if that keeps the engine from stalling.
