Why does modern poetry suck so much?

Anyone can be a poet these day, just ignore meter scheme, rhyme, and now, you can even ignore coherency, just as long as it 'expresses one's feeling.'

Thanks to Modern's poetry low standards, I think I'll take a shot at it-

Mad Meg, with sword in hand
A Ghastly legion she did command
To conquer hell she did intend,
And off to hell, her army wend.
And this doesn't suck:

Death
Sleep,
All one
One is longer
Agnst
Agony
Despair
Cut wrist.
 
it doesn't and there are some great poets here on yahoo answers believe it or not!

Edit: yes the second poem u posted is very emo...those aren't good poems but I don't think you should call all modern poetry bad.
 
modern poetry sucks
because times change
kinda like what Warhol did
by painting common items
he demonstrated how cliche and name brand art was becoming
sorry you poor romantic
times are changing
and so is poetry

Sadly we mourn
the lost of playwright poets
from the times their legacy where wrought
but still lives crave drama
so that the poets calling must be
cybernetic
and deficit
in attention
lest the audience
not bother
to be moved
at all

oh further
rhyme meter
things of this nature
they came from free verse
when English majors went back
to discover the methods of madness
behind great poems
so
ya know
there are people that study language
and those that use it
