Why does kicker ''David Akers'' point to the sky after every FG/Punt?

The Philadelphia Eagles kicker always points with both hands towards the sky like he is thanking god after every FG. Is it just me or does anyone else see it? It's totally cool. I like him for it. It's like his trademark, but why does he do it? Im a Cardinals fan too....any philly fans here to fill me in?

I respect David Akers, Im not trying to bash, Im just curious. =) He is one of the best kickers I think.
