Why does it seem (to me) as though all the good Fantasy books are written

by British authors? It's just something I noticed. Most of the fantasy books which I have enjoyed have either been written by British authors, or set in Britain:

Harry Potter
Chronicles of Narnia
Deptford Histories

I have not read "Redwall" yet, but I also noticed they are set in Britain too.

Why is that?

Redwall is great!!!!

Piers Anthony, author of the Xanth series, is English and American.

Neil Gaiman - english

Stephen King - american (yes he does have some fantasy novels)

I don't know why that is. Maybe because the English like writing that genre, while Americans like writing other genres, like thrillers or dramas.

Soon, I will be up there on that list.
JK
I can only dream....

There are many writers still in the process of finishing their books. There is a big writing hype going on so don't be surprised when you see the list filled with Americans, Asians, and Africans.
=P
