Why does incredimail email program act weird?

OK. I have had the incredimail program on my vista 32bit computer. When I would download my email it would say like say 50 emails were downloading from a certain account. But when I go to the actual email account on the web. There is more way more emails in there than what I just downloaded, when there should be none at all at the email account on the web. WTF is going on? I would like to use the incredimail program again sometime soon but not if its gonna act fussy! Any ideas on what could be going wrong? Thanks
