I have noticed that, while not a smart thing to do, smacking electronics makes them work when they are acting up. I have heard that smacking some things, like remotes, make them work by shifting the batteries that might have corroded and lost direct contact for electricity to pass. I get that, but how does smacking other electronics that don't use batteries make them work?
I have seen it work on televisions (the old ones) and I used to smack my windows PC (back when I had it) right after pushing the start button (otherwise it would turn back off). Now I have a macbook, partitioned with windows (for school related windows only programs), and the usb mouse worked for both sides. Today, the mouse on the windows side began working intermittently before stopping completely. I shifted to the mac side and It worked for a while then it as well stopped working.
I tried to troubleshoot it but nothing worked. I was about to use my tablet and then I got the idea to smack it.
Voila, it works perfectly now.
How does that work? Does anyone know? Serious answers or good hypotheses welcome.
Thanks.
