Why does God desire worship?

If God was truly humble, He wouldn't require people praising Him or talking about His greatness.
He would've simply ask people to love, to care, to understand.
Why should He send unbelievers to hell if they have loving hearts?
Isn't Love enough? Isn't Love greater than faith as the bible says?
