Why does Flash Video (but not audio) stutter when I watch videos in Firefox.?

When I watch Youtube videos the video itself stutters while the audio plays fine. Im using Firefox and a brand new laptop with 2.2 ghz dual core processor and 4gb of ram. I have the latest version of firefox, flash, and javascript. I know this is a Flash problem because in Internet Explorer (which uses windows media player) Youtube videos play perfectly. So how do I fix this? Or if thats not possible, can i use Windows media player to play flash in Firefox?
