from their foods being supplemented with corn based products, their fries being cooked in corn oil, the animals being fed corn products, and even the plastics and papers used in its packaging have corn in them. Why is it that they are going so far out of their way to use corn for everything, is macdonalds owned by a corn company or vice versa?

Corn is the # 1 produced vegetable in the U.S. Therefore it's a cheap to manufacture and buy

The first answer looks right on the money to me - in the UK, the food is wheatflour-heavy: there aren't many corn products at all.
