Why does everyone love toyota so much?

ill admit it, they make good vehicles. but why does it seem all the drivers of the trucks think there shit dont stink. at least thats how it is in Oregon. anyone agree?

Public perception lags by up to a decade. GM and Chrysler, and to a greater extent Ford have matched the Japanese in quality. Honda is a lazy, safe, bet. Toyota the same.

They are the third most reliable car in the world as of 2009.
According to the 2009 Comsumer Reports magazine.

But I hate them.
They have no soul.
no fun, bad handling, numb steering, bad throttle response, underpowered, too quiet and smooth and no driver feedback. Boring or Ugly designs(Toyota Prius).

They get credit for things done by other companies.
Honda brought the 60mpg city, 66mpg highway Hybrid Honda Insight to America in 2001-2006.
Toyota brought the Prius a few months later, which got around 50mpg. For some reason, everyone ignored the better and more fuel effieicnt Honda and went for the uglier and boring Toyota Prius. Most people think it is the 1st Hybrid in America and do not know the Honda Insight existed.

They are making a new sports car, but it is using the technology of Subaru. Subaru engine, chassis, transmission, Subaru everything, except body design in looks.
