This violence affects one in four families and ninety percent of all homicides are domestic violence related but this barely makes a mention in our media. Do you think the media is taking a responsible role in helping to create a better society?

No, media in America are mostly private with only goal to find the most shocking news and make money. They're not interested showing the truth. But I know what you mean, domestic violence is a huge problem, many times goes on undetected for years and affects so many people. :(

Domestic violence is a private matter where the victims are concerned. Very few victims will acknowledge it. To them, it is the norm. They are ashamed of the fact that it happens and deep down think they deserve this foul treatment in some way.
If there were more victims who could come out and make this crime a media issue, the media could do it's job. What is more shocking than a woman who is beaten for a sorry excuse or a child who is locked in the closet for wetting the bed?
The media can only report about the information they recieve.
