why does culture and society expect you to be a certain way?talk a certian way?

i mean, all over the world, humans have expected other humans to walk, talk, dress,and at a certain way!!
WTF i dont get it!!
so could u please help my get answers to why culture expects the same people??
is society really afraid of change?
In school i get shuned alot just for the way i think, act ,and speak. and im not trying to change for anyone(not in a million years) its good to be different!!!! so why is being yourself sucha bad thing??
HELP ME!!!!!!
 
Because people can't keep an open-mind. I know how you feel. Its just some people don't like the idea of anything that differ from them because they're coward and fear what they don't know. Its quite pitful if you ask me.
 
I think from a biological standpoint, anyone who is too different/defiant is viewed as posing a threat to a society. That society may feel that person is turning against them if they don't follow the established behavioral norms. I don't think it's anything personal. It's a subconscious survival instinct- eliminate threats.
